Today’s topic is exploring the world of Heuchera’s also known as Coral Bells.

If you are needing color and contrast in your landscape all season long, Have you thought of adding Heuchera perennial plants?

Why are Heuchera’s becoming so popular? Well, the foliage outshines the bloom with most Heuchera’s , there is nothing like seeing all the different color combinations and contrasts.

Heuchera’s are easy to grow, carefree plants that bring so much value and beauty to your landscaped areas.

Every year new varieties are coming out, with different leaf shapes, sizes, textures, and color.

The foliage color ranges from purple, peach, green , burgundy , chartreuse, browns, and rusts. With many more to come.

Heuchera’s all bloom but in reality this is not the most significant attribute of them. The foliage color last’s all season making this the most valued feature.

Heuchera’s can be planted in the ground, but they really look great in pots during the season.

When most plants are done blooming, heuchera’s keep going and going and what is extra beautiful about them
is they can change coloring as the season’s change.

Let’s begin by talking about Heuchera’s culture. They grow in a sun to partial shade , to shade areas, this will depend on the variety of heuchera you have and where you live.

Heuchera can look different in appearance depending on the lighting you are allowing it to have during the day. Hotter climates may choose to plant them in morning sun and afternoon shade, cooler climates may get by with more sun . Keep in mind where you live will and can make that difference in planting area.

Heuchera’s bloom in later spring and the color of the blooms varies with each variety, after their done blooming you can remove the stems to clean and tidy up the plant.

Heuchera grow in zones 4-9 and require well drained soil. Their size and mounded shape makes for a ideal plant in the garden.

When planting them make sure you do not bury the crown to deep, keep the crown slightly above the
soil, this is where the new growth takes place. Pay close attention to this otherwise you could have some loss.

Dividing Heucheras should be done preferably in the spring. You will know if this is needed when the plant starts to separate in the center.

Placing mulch around the plants can never hurt , this keeps the weeds down and also protects your investment. Just don’t cover to much around the crown area.

So next time you are at the local nursery or gardening center , ask them about the new Heuchera varieties. There is some pretty great things happening in the Heuchera world.

Foliage color is becoming more and more an interest to gardeners around the world. Make sure you include Heuchera today.

Water Gardens have become very popular in landscapes today.. but what should you be considering before venturing into construction of a water garden.

The pleasing relaxing sound of water running is so inviting to wildlife .Not only to wildlife but when you can walk outside in your yard and hear the sounds of water running , you will love how this makes you feel and what will be attracted to your water garden.

Water Gardens need a great location, they do well in a part sun area. Full sun areas tend to have more algae buildup problems so pay attention to location.

There is maintenance involved with contemplating the construction of a water pond. Sure they are beautiful but one must realize there is some work involved in cleaning and keeping them clean.

There is many plants that work in a water garden. You will want to have several different types, floaters , oxgenators, marginal plants, submerged plants such as hardy lilies too.

The more surface area you cover the less likely the algae problems.

There is many products on the market today for algae problems, I like the natural approach and use barley bales and surface cover with plants.

Goldfish and Koi do wonderfully in water gardens, and they do reproduce giving you baby fish each season.

You can use a plastic liner , or preformed mold to form your pond . This may be a matter of preference depending on how large you want your water garden.

If you are digging your own water garden and using a liner, make sure you make some shelves within the water garden pond hole area. Shelves within your pond make a great place to place marginal plants , and it add different heights , looks great too.

You also want to have one area of your pond at least 2-3 ft deep, and the reason for that is 1) hot summers, fish need a place to go, the deeper the depth the cooler the water temperature 2) Cold winters, if you leave your fish outside year around there needs to be a good depth that does not freeze solid so the fish will survive .

You can construct however you choose , natural looking with large river rock , or there is plenty of other rock available to fit your style .

Water Gardens are a wonderful feature in your landscape. Be realistic when venturing into adding to your landscape.

Why Video Should be a Part of Your Online Marketing

When I started online in the internet and network marketing arena, I was told to make videos right from the start . This was back in Oct 2008.

I was scared to death and did not know a thing about making videos.. but I was determined and learned how from a young but very smart individual.

Video was a great way to draw interest and Youtube was the video site to distribute your videos.

See here is why Video Works:

People everyday are searching for mentors, leaders in the home business industry.

People can see, feel , get to know you and hopefully get to trust you through video.

Would you rather watch a video or read? Video can send a message to anyone all over the world 7 days a week , 24 hours a day, and once you make a video it is there working for you over and over again.

Video can be created in several ways: You can show you on the videos and talk about a peticular subject, you can make video tutorials of your computer screen showing someone how to do something. You can create presentation through power point ..

Video is fun, and once you do them a few times, they get easier, you gain confidence and you figure out that you find this way of marketing online is a great way to reach others that are looking for you.

Keep your videos short 2-5 minutes unless they are tutorials showing someone how to do something.

Pick subjects of your niche, how you can provide solutions to people that are looking for help on a subject of interest.

Providing value and good content goes a long ways online. Make sure when you make a video they are of substance and not of pitching your business.

Always at the beginning introduce yourself, your website or blog , and a brief introduction of what your video is going to be about.. You want to keep their attention , so make sure you also state you will be offering them something later in the video so they stay tuned.

So I hope this has helped you.. Video Marketing is my choice of marketing online.. Give it a Try!

It clearly works and it is a fast way to get yourself online for free.. That is right put up a channel on Youtube and get making those videos.

Regards,
Diane Mumm

P.S. Make sure you grab my video marketing course below .. It is a free 5 day Video Marketing Boot Camp.. Have Fun!
